Wadden Sea World Heritage Site

In 2009, the Wadden Sea was placed on Unesco's World Heritage List.

Both the Dutch and German Wadden Sea received World Heritage status.

The Dutch Wadden Islands Texel, Vlieland, Terschelling, Ameland and Schiermonnikoog as well as the Groningen wadden coast and the Frisian wadden coast lie on the edge of this World Heritage Site.

You can reach the only North Dutch Wadden Sea island of Texel via a boat trip across the World Heritage Wadden Sea.

The ferry departs from Den Helder to Texel and sails across the World Heritage wadden Sea.

The boat trip takes between 15 and 20 minutes, sailing past the island's Hors and Horspolders. All Dutch Wadden Islands border the World Heritage Site the Wadden Sea.
